Fraxel Laser Face Lift
Fractional or Fraxel laser treatments stimulate the natural healing process of your skin, increasing collagen production and skin renewal. It is not as invasive as a face lift but is still designed to give your face a lift. This treatment can help to achieve the following for your skin.
- Reduction of lines and wrinkles, improved skin tone and elasticity
- Smoother, more even skin texture
- Acne scarring
- Sun damage · Pigmentation
- Improvement in scar tissue
- Stretch marks
Fraxel laser treatments are based on the latest fractional laser technology, altering the structures below the surface of the skin and creating unique conditions for continued collagen and elastin regeneration, whilst leaving the skins outer layer intact.
The greatest benefit of having a mosaic procedure is that collagen and dermal elastin fibres are constantly being regenerated and improved months after treatment.
How does Fraxel skin regeneration work?
Fraxel lasers target minute sections of the skin, penetrating just deep enough to stimulate significant collagen renewal while the surrounding non-affected areas aid the body’s natural recovery process, all leading to dramatic results without significant down time.
What does treatment feel like?
Treatment sensation varies from client to client. A topical anaesthetic is applied to the treatment area and a cryo-therapy cooling device can be used during treatment to minimise any discomfort. Most clients experience a warming sensation, considered to be tolerable.
How will my skin look after treatment?
You will experience a mild sunburn sensation for a few hours and the skin will be red for 1 to 3 days. This is a normal sign that the skin is healing at a deep level. During this time you may experience a little swelling, although this normally resolves in 2-3 days.
As the healing and skin renewal process occurs you may get a ‘bronzing’ appearance to the skin and this can last for between 3-7 days. Your skin will naturally exfoliate and may flake, as it would with mild sunburn.
How many treatments will I need?
Improvements will be seen after the first treatment. We usually advise a course of three to six treatments for optimal results. Treatment is carried out every two to six weeks, but you will be advised of the best frequency for your specific requirements during your consultation.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects could consist of temporary redness, swelling and ‘bronzing’ as noted in ‘How will my skin look after treatment?’.
Other effects are rare but can include small blisters or temporary pigmentation.
When will I see the results?
Response to treatment varies from person to person depending upon the type of condition we are treating. Keep in mind that treatment results can be seen to improve for up to one year after treatment.

After Care
- Moisturising will help reduce any swelling and flushing (redness) of the skin. This will also aid the natural removal of any flaking
- Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight for at least 48hrs and apply a good broad spectrum sunscreen, minimum SPF 30, on a regular basis as advised by your clinician
- Do not pick or pull at any loose or flaking skin, or use any exfolients, as this may result in scarring
- Whilst any redness remains avoid heavy drinking, saunas or exercise
