Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a method of deep exfoliation that instantly delivers smoother, softer and more radiant skin. This treatment super-cleanses pores, refines skin tone and texture, and boosts the natural production of fresh skin cells and collagen. The treatments are individually targeted to your specific requirements and over time results are more effective as fine lines are softened and blemishes reduced.

How does Microdermabrasion work?
The applicator is methodically applied over the area being treated, circulating a fine stream of mildly abrasive particles combined with a vacuum to remove the dead skin cells. A light abrasion technique is used which mechanically dislodges the dead skin cells from the treated area, with attention spent targeting your specific requirements.
What does treatment feel like?
Microdermabrasion has been described as fine sandpaper being rubbed on your skin or a cat licking your skin, a very slight roughness with a tingling sensation, but not uncomfortable.
How will my skin look after treatment?
You may notice a reddening appearance to the skin and it may also have a slightly tight feel to it, as if you have windburn. If experienced, this will calm within a few hours.
How many treatments are necessary?
Depending on your specific requirements a one off treatment to boost your skin or for a special occasion may be suitable, a course of treatments would be advised for a more problematic skin, or regular treatments to maintain your skin at its best, as skin is constantly renewing itself and producing those dead cells which then build up on the surface.
Are there any side effects?
Slight redness and sensitivity may be experienced for a few hours after treatment. Skin dryness and flaking can occur for a few days as dead surface cells are eliminated. Your skin will feel tighter, softer and smoother than usual.
What results can I expect?
Smoother, softer, more radiant looking skin can be seen after just one treatment, but this is a progressive treatment and the improvements become more and more visible over a course of treatments.

Aftercare
Daily application of a broad spectrum sunscreen (UVA and UVB), minimum SPF 30, should be used as advised by your clinician.
