Always use a high factor (Min SPF 30) sunscreen
and protect the treated area from exposure to sunlight for
one month following treatment.
Tanning after treatment may enhance melanin
regeneration, which may result in hyper-pigmentation.
Care should be taken to prevent trauma to
the treated area for the first four to five days following
treatment: No hot baths, no aerobic exercise, massaging etc.
If scabs appears after blistering they should be kept soft
with lubricating cream such as Vaseline.
If the treatment is exposed to dirt, it should
be covered with a dressing for ten days. Patients should not
participate in rough sport until the skin returns to normal.
There maybe changes of pigmentation in the
treated area. Most cases occur in people with darker skin
types, or when the treated area is exposed to direct sunlight.
The changes should fade in 3-6 months but in rare cases may
be permanent.
